How to Teach Your Child Quran at Home

You do not need to be a scholar to support your child's Quran learning. You need a routine, patience and small wins.

Whether or not your child has a teacher, what happens at home between lessons determines the pace of progress. The good news: ten focused minutes a day is enough.

Anchor practice to an existing habit

Attach Quran practice to something that already happens daily — after Maghrib, or straight after breakfast.

Keep sessions short and end on success

Stop while your child is still doing well. Ending on a struggle teaches them that Quran time feels like failure.

  • • 10 minutes, not 40
  • • Praise effort, not just accuracy
  • • Recite together, don't only test
  • • Never use Quran as a punishment
