How to Memorize Quran Effectively

Memorising is the easy part. Retaining what you memorised is the discipline that separates finished Hifz from abandoned Hifz.

By Iqra UL Quran Editorial Team · 7 January 2026 · 7 min read

Every serious Hifz programme splits the daily session into three parts. Skipping the second and third is why students forget.

  • • Sabaq — the new portion for today
  • • Sabqi — the pages memorised in recent weeks
  • • Manzil — a rolling revision of everything before that

Choose a portion you can sustain

Three lines a day that you actually revise beats a page a day that you abandon after a month. Agree an honest portion with your teacher and protect it.
